Matthew K. Adams, MD
Dr. Matthew K. Adams is a board-certified ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon, specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and is currently practicing at Retina Associates of Cleveland. He also treats patients at Ohio Eye Associates in Mansfield, a satellite office of Retina Associates of Cleveland.
Dr. Adams is a native of Dallas, Texas. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. During medical school, he also received an MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. Dr. Adams received training in ophthalmology during his residency at Baylor College of Medicine and went on to complete a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Mayo Clinic.
His principal areas of interest include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment repair, macular surgery, and retinal lasers. He is a scientific reviewer for multiple medical journals and his work has appeared in journal articles, posters, and presentations on a national level.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Adams has adopted the hobbies of becoming a professional percussionist, competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing, and completing certification for scuba diving and sky diving.
