Susan M. Franko, OD

Dr. Franko was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and grew up in Troy, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Med from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University before attending The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry in 1996. She is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Franko joined Ohio Eye Associates in 2025 and works in our Mt. Vernon office. She is excited to continue providing eye care for this community where she has been in private practice since 1998. Dr. Franko enjoys working with patients of all ages for routine eye care, providing glasses and contact lenses, and she believes each patient should be treated like family. She also enjoys providing medical care for eye diseases and co-managing eye surgery patients.

Dr. Franko and her husband, Steve, live in Mt. Vernon and have two adult children, a son and a daughter, who she loves spending time with. She is also an active member of Mt. Vernon First Church of the Nazarene, having served in several roles in this church over the last 27 years. In her free time, she enjoys making music and woodworking.
