Tom Zitko, OD

Dr. Thomas Zitko has been a lifelong resident of Shelby, Ohio. Having shadowed and worked for Ohio Eye Associates as a scribe in his undergraduate years, Dr. Zitko knew he wanted to become an optometrist. Dr. Zitko obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology through Bowling Green State University in 2019. He then attended optometry college in Eastern Kentucky and enjoyed his clinical time caring for patients in rural Appalachia. In 2023, Dr. Zitko graduated from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry and has special interest in dry eye management and ocular disease.

Dr. Zitko is both a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. His goal is to provide the best comprehensive eye care for the communities of Shelby, Plymouth, and Bucyrus as an optometrist at Ohio Eye Associates. Dr. Zitko is married to Rachel Zitko, whom he met during his time at Bowling Green State University. Besides optometry, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, and he is currently working on his private pilot’s license.
